Alternative ways to animate

So... another (possibly) less-technical animation option, would be to make and film something in real-time, which tells my convergence/divergence story (as this is the project theme) either in a stop motion or at the pace that I need, and then edit over the top using the computer!

Examples:

Illustrated talk - "Where good ideas come from" by Bill Johnson.

2011 stop motion ad for MTV.

Or, I could make a little world like Hattie Newman <3

Zoetropes in animation

Zoetrope's are models which date back to the 19th century, and consist of a series of flat images or sculptures which show movement and narrative through motion! This is a great video explaining a zoetrope made by Pixar as a simple way to explain animation:

As a "maker" I am considering the possibility of using one or several zoetropes to make my animation.

..words can't describe!

Stop motion research :o)

Being un-techy, stop motion is an alternative  way on animating that I really like, and that I am more like to be able to use to make something maybe even a little bit impressive (i hope :P).

i am listening to....

Architecture in Helsinki - Like It Or Not.
the soundtrack to my work, and the vid is 100% applique! :)
(I'm definitely memory-banking this little chestnut for the level 5 animation unit!)

animation...

..at the end of next year we have to make an animation. Although this is something I've never done as of yet, we saw some of the current level 5's submissions last week, and they were really inspiring. It's a long way off yet but I found this today and if nothing else the technique is simple, and it amused me. Enjoy!

I just found this, it's an animation by an illustration student at Camberwell. Pretty neat stuff!
