Music videos

Through my research i've found that music videos can be a great source of inspiration. Here are a few that've caught my eye recently-

Rubbish song (who writes a song about an orange peel??!!) BUT - really interesting filmed/ hand drawn imagery. 

I LOVE this video, and this band. I know i've posted this on here before, but in a nutshell, this is the sentiment and style that I want to capture through my video. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Lou Roll and The Tubes

In my unit assessment last week, I spoke with David Callow about ways to work with/ photograph bland objects like toilet roll tubes to make them look spectacular, and more valuable. Today I came across these characters by Itchy Animation. In my opinion, they're a little bit epic!

 

   

Alternative ways to animate

So... another (possibly) less-technical animation option, would be to make and film something in real-time, which tells my convergence/divergence story (as this is the project theme) either in a stop motion or at the pace that I need, and then edit over the top using the computer!

Mexican Mavis

In keeping with my "make new work" vibe, for the last few days i've been indulging my urge to draw by working on a new series of images (possibly to be used as prints, greetings cards, or as a zine). Here's a sneaky peak:

Her name is Mexican Mavis (Mave for short!)and she's based on the Boy and Bear song of the same name.
